Forevermore Album Story
For a very long time I felt I was alone in my deepest suffering and pain. From my early childhood into my adult life. Whenever I was faced with pain and suffering whether emotional or physical I would run.
I would run to drugs, alcohol, friends, food or whatever I could find to make myself feel better about what was happening. Sometimes I would just withdraw deep within to isolation cutting myself off from everyone else.
Then I became a runner and started marathon training. I realized that when I was out on those long runs I could no longer escape. I had to face the pain. I could crumble, walk and call someone to pick me up or I could face it. Fortunately for me I have a Savior who would not let me give up.
I searched the scriptures for what God says about pain and suffering and what was born of that study were these 4, but very powerful, songs. Songs that changed the way I looked at pain and suffering in every area of my life. Now I know the power I truly have to draw on. On each long run now He shows Himself faithful giving me the endurance and Spirit to praise him during the suffering. Like He did for Paul and Silas, the chains have fallen off. I have joy in every circumstance when my mind is fixed on Him.
Today, on my longs runs I feel the first verse of the song Forevermore each time I listen to it…
As the storm clouds dance in the sky
When the flood waters rage inside
You tell me to look deep into your eyes
As your Spirit holds on tight
You say you will rebuke the waves
And bring me out of the cave
If that’s what it takes
To give me what you came
To die for
My heart, my love, forevermore
