Olive’s Night Light Album Story

I am a mother of four children between the ages of 4 and 14.

My 8 year old daughter recently asked me

“What’s your tag line Mom?”

I quickly raddled off a list…

“Go to bed”

“Eat your food”

“Turn the TV down”

“Everyone turn your devices off”

“Go outside and play”

“Peace over pride” (when they are fighting)

She laughed after each one I said because they are so true. When she asked me to write to this Lullaby album for her I jumped at an opportunity to help her go to sleep faster because she tends to like to stay up chatting at night when I’m so tired.

Then Jesus spoke to my heart reminding me that though the days are long, the years will go by quickly and these moments are to be cherished.

So now, at night, we listen to this album as we lay down together.

I am in awe that He is planting these truths into their minds at such a young age. I didn’t know Jesus until I was 36. I think about if I had grown up with these truths and wonder how different it would all have been. I am thankful this will be what their lives are built on, a firm foundation, a solid ground, the love of our Savior and knowledge of the Holy One.

I take these seeds He has given me for sowing very seriously and pray over them daily because I know first hand how it will shape them in every way.

This is not a lullaby album for just children. It is for all God’s children and I find myself listening to it by myself when I just want to be held in the arms of our Savior and rocked to sleep by a loving Father. I pray it will be that for you too.
